Former Eastman Select Suzanne Cortilet is entering her second year playing CIS University Hockey with the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers. Cortilet played her last year of midget hockey in the MFMHL with the Selects where she tied for the league scoring championshi p and helped the Selects reach the MFMHL final. As a Freshman forward for the Panthers Cortilet recorded 8 points and to date in 7 games this season has 2 points.

Peters Wins First Game with Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets
Former Pembina Valley Hawk Shanley Peters (FR) picked up her first win in her NCAA Hockey career on Tuesday Night, a big 2-1 victory over the St. Scholastica Saints in the Yellowjackets first NCHA Conference Game. Peters faced 15 shots in the game. In 2009-10 Peters was the PV Hawks #1 goalie as she backstopped them to the MFMHL and Provincial Midget Championships. Peters hails from Gnadenthal MB.
Former Westman Wildcats Teal Crosson (FR), Sheryl Kaskiw (FR) and Teagan Cassan (SO/co-captain) are also with the Yellowjackets along woith former Central Plains Capital Shaye Nelissen (FR-See article below). The Wildcats have joined the MFMHL for the first time this season and bring a strong tradition of placing players in College or University Hockey Programs that the other teams in the MFMHL are trying to follow.

McMannis gets off to quick start in NCAA
Former Pembina Valley Hawk Cara McMannis had 2 points with a goal and an assist to her credit this past weekend to help the St. Scholastica Saints earn a 3-0 victory in her first NCAA game and the Saints first game as a NCAA Hockey Program. The win came Friday night when they played a non-conference game vs. the Augsburg College Auggies. The Saints played another non-conference opponent, Condordia College of Moorhead MN. and lost a close 5-4 decision on Sunday however McMannis did not dress for this game. Cara was a 3 year standout for the 2 time MFMHL Champion PV Hawks and is known for her tenacious and strong 2-way play.

Shaye Nelissen picks up an assist for her first NCAA point in 5-2 win vs. Concordia
Former Central Plains Capitals Defense Shaye Nelissen picked up an assist for her new team the University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets in a 5-2 victory over Concordia College on Saturday night. Nelissen who was a solid 3 year player for the Capitals and holds their career points record and all offensive points records for D is a solid defender with very good offensive skills.
Nelissen and McMannis both played summer hockey for the Pembina Valley Icecats who won the 2 Nations Female Hockey League. They will play each other Tuesday November 9th in both players first NCHA (Northern Collegiate Hockey Association) league game.
