TEAM MANITOBA MOVES TO 4-0 WITH TROUNCING OF PEI

 

MANITOBA FEMALE MIDGET HOCKEY LEAGUE PLAYERS CONTINUE TO DOMINATE TEAM TOBA SCORING

 

MFMHL Players powered Team Manitoba to a convincing 9-1 win over PEI to go 4-0 in the Round Robin Portion of the 2011 Canada Winter Games in Halifax. Kristine Grenier (Pembina Valley) - 3 goals and an assist, Shelby Bram (Eastman) - goal and 3 assists, Kayleigh Wiens (Pembina Valley)- 2 goals and an assist and Kiara De Kezel (Westman) - goal and an assist accounted for 13 of Team Manitoba's 22 points. Grenier now leads the event with 8 goals and is 2nd in scoring with 11 points. Wiens with 6 goals and 7 assists along with Bram 2 goals and a tournament high 11 assists lead the Games with 13 points each.

Manitoba now plays on Thursday in the Quarter-final vs. either BC or Sask. Follow the team @

TEAM MANITOBA 3-0 AFTER 3-2 OT WIN OVER HOST NOVA SCOTIA

 

Team Manitoba continued their winning ways and again was carried by players from the MFMHL. In a tough 3-2 OT win Kayleigh Wiens (Pembina Valley) scored both regulation goals before Meghan Dufault notched the OT winner for Manitoba. Shelby Bram (Eastman) continued to pick up points as she notched an assist and now leads the event with 8 helpers in 3 games. 3 MFMHL players are now in the top 5 in scoring at the games with Wiens leading the way with a tournament high 10 points and 6 goals, Bram sits second with 9 points while Kristine Grenier is 5th with 5 goals and 2 assists.

Team Manitoba outshot Nova Scotia 32-14 in the game. Their next action comes Wednesday @ 9:30 a.m. vs. P.E.I.

        GAME 2 -  TEAM MANITOBA WINS BIG OVER THE YUKON -  Record Moves to 2-0         

 

MFMHL Players again led Team Manitoba during their second win, a 19-0 romp over the Yukon at the 2011 Canada Winter Games in Halifax. The Top 3 point getters for Team Manitoba were all MFMHL players led by. Kayleigh Wiens (Pembina Valley) who had a huge day picking up 7 points including 4 goals. Shelby Bram (Eastman) was next with 6 points including a team high 5 assists while Kristine Grenier (Pembina Valley) continued her hot hand netting a hattrick to go with 2 assists for a 5 point game. Kiara De Kezel (Westman) picked up a goal in the win as the 4 MFMHL players attributed for 19 of Team Manitoba's 45 points.

Next up for Team Manitoba is Nova Scotia on Tuesday Feb. 22.

Team Manitoba off to Winning Start in Halifax

MFMHL Players Make BIG Contribution in First Win

 

Kristine Grenier (Pembina Valley) netted 2 goals while Shelby Bram (Eastman) had 2 assists and Kayleigh Wiens (Pembina Valley) picked up a single assist to help Team Manitoba to a 6-2 win over New Brunswick in their first game at the 2011 Canada Winter Games. Former Central Plains Capital  Natasha Kostenko had a goal and an assist in the victory.

Team Manitoba outshot New Brunswick 30-16 and now plays Yukon on Monday Feb. 21.
