Week 23 - Brittni Mowat - Goalie - Pembina Valley Hawks

Mowat a Grade 11 student from Glenboro who is in her second year with the Hawks is the MFMHL Player of the Week. Mowat stopped 112 of 114 shots fired her way earning 2 shutouts as she led the defending champion Hawks to the MFMHL and Provicial "AAA" Female Midget Championship during a 3 game sweep of the Winnipeg Avros. Mowat was 9-0 in the MFMHL playoffs with an outstanding Save % of .950 and GGA of 1.25. During the Season with the Hawks Mowat was 27-6-8 while sporting a save % of .936 and 1.92 GAA. The Hawks now advance to the Western Regionals vs. the "AAA" winner from Saskatchewan with the Notre Dame Hounds leading the Saskatoon Stars 1-0 in their best of 5 championship series. The Hawks will need Mowat to continue her strong play between the pipes if they hope to earn a berth to the 2012 Hockey Canada Esso Cup Midget Female Nationals in April 22-28th in Charlottetown, PEI.
