TEAM MANITOBA LOSES FIRST GAME AT U18 NATIONALS
Team Manitoba got off to a slow start against Alberta in their first game at the U18 Nationals in Dawson Creek BC. Falling behind by 3 goals in the first 25 minutes of the game Team Manitoba could not recover although they were probably the better team in the 2nd half of the game. Ashleigh Brykaliuk from the MFMHL's Westman Wildcats had the only goal for Manitoba while Pembina Valley's Brittni Mowat took the loss in net. They next play vs. Ontario Blue on Thursday in what now appears to be a must win game for Team Manitoba.
Team Manitoba outshot Alberta 33-24 however Head Coach Ashley van Aggelen felt the team played to much perimeter hockey and needs to get the puck to the net more and get more traffic in front the goalie not letting them get such a good look at the puck. Coach van Aggelen felt that they were definitely picking up momentum throughout the game after a nervius start and need to build on the fact that they were the better team in the 3rd period.
