West Regional Updates

 REGINA WINS HOCKEY CANADA WEST REGION CHAMPIONSHIP

The Regina Rebels defeated the Pembina Valley Hawks for the second game in a row in OT to claim the Hockey Canada Esso Cup West Region Championship. The 2-1 overtime win means the Regina Rebels will represent the West Region at the Esso Cup National Midget Championship in Burnaby BC from April 21-27.

The Rebels win also means there will be a new Esso Cup National Champion crownwed in 2013 stopping the Hawks efforts to defend the championship they won in 2012.

The West Region has won 3 of 4 Esso Cups

2012-Pembina Valley Hawks (Manitoba)- Gold

2011-Notre Dame Hounds (Sakatchewan)-Gold

2010-Notre Dame Hounds (Sakatchewan)-Silver

2009-Westman Wildcats (Manitoba)-Gold
