ELISHA OSWALD COMMITS TO BISONS
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Goaltender Elisha Oswald of the Central Plains Capitals has committed to attend school and play hockey at the University of Manitoba. The Bisons play in the CIS Canada West Hockey Conference.
Oswald has played the past three seasons with the Central Plains Capitals where she posted a record of 40-31-15 with career GAA of 1.93 and Save % of .914. Oswald is the Capitals career leader in wins, minutes and games played,saves while being second in shutouts with 14. Oswald has received the Capitals Coaches Award twice while also attaining the Academic Achievement Award during her midget career.

McIntosh Commits to Attend Brock
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Winnipeg Avros Goaltender Justine McIntosh has committed to attend school at and play hockey for Brock University commencing the fall of 2014. Brock is a public research university located in St. Catharines Ontario and the Badgers play in the OUA (Ontario University Athletics Conference) which is a member of the CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport).
McIntosh who hails from East St. Paul and attends River East Collegiate has been a solid contributor to the Avros program helping them reach the MFMHL final and semi-finals during her "AAA" midget career. During the past two seasons with the Avros McIntosh has compiled an overall record of 29-18-6 while posting a GAA of 2.17 and a save % of .911. In 2012 McIntosh made Hockey Manitoba's U18 Program of Excellence Top 40 Camp and then went one better in 2013 when she made the Final 27 Camp. McIntosh has been a steady and reliable performer for the Avros and is known for her positive attitude and team first attitude.

Kristen Hunt Commits to St. Scholastica
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Yellowhead Chiefs' goaltender Kristen Hunt has committed to attend school at and play hockey for the College of St. Scholastica commencing the 2014-2015 season. St. Scholastica is a private university located in Duluth Minnesota and the Saints play DIII hockey in the NCHA (Northern Collegiate Hockey Association).
Hunt played the 2013-2014 season with the Chiefs after two seasons with the Pembina Valley Hawks. This season Hunt played in 45 games recording 20 wins, a goals against average of 1.81 and save % of .927 as she led the Chiefs into the playoffs and to a place in the MFMHL semi finals. The 17 year old Winnipeg native who attends West Kildonan Collegiate was selected as the Chiefs Most Valuable Player for her solid play throughout the season. During her three year Midget career Hunt had an overall record of 59 wins-24 losses-6 ties with a GAA of 1.80 and save % of .915.

SKY BROWN COMMITS TO CASTLETON STATE COLLEGE
Becomes 16th MFMHL Player to Commit this Season
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Westman Wildcats' Goaltender Sky Brown has committed to attend school at and play hockey for Castleton State College commencing the fall of 2014. Castleton State College is DIII school located in Castleton Vermont and the Spartans play in the Eastern College Athletic Conference.
Brown has had an outstanding season for the Wildcats posting a win-loss record of 12-3-5 in MFMHL regular season play with a GAA of 1.58 and save% of .933 leading to her selection as a MFMHL Second Team All-star as well as being named Goalie of the Month in February plus Player of the Week twice. Brown had an incredible finish to the MFMHL regular season and for the month went 7-0 with 5 shutouts only allowing 3 goals during this streak as well as leading the Wildcats to a three game sweep of the Norman Wild in the first round of the MFMHL playoffs. She allowed the Wild the second highest scoring team in the MFMHL only 1 goal during the 3 game sweep. During the playoffs she backstopped the Wildcats into the MFMHL Championship series with an 8-4 record with a 1.37 GAA and outstanding .948 save%. She also went 3-0-1 at the Mac's Tournament in Calgary over Christmas in helping her team earn the Championship Banner which included a thrilling 2-1 triple-overtime victory in the final.
Brown hails from Virden and will taking General Studies in her first year at Castleton College a Liberal Arts college with an enrollment of 2000 students offering 20 undergraduate programs and Master's Degrees in Education and Accounting.

KATE FRIESEN COMMITS TO PROVIDENCE
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Defense Kate Friesen of the Pembina Valley Hawks has committed to attend school at and play hockey for Providence College commencing the 2015-16 season. Providence College is located in Providence Rhode Island and the Friars play NCAA DI Hockey as a member of the Hockey East Conference.
Friesen a Grade 11 student who hails from Altona is in her third year with the Hawks and to date has played 164 games scoring 32 goals and adding 64 assists for 96 points while posting an impressive +87 rating. During her midget career to date Friesen has helped the Hawks win 2 MFMHL Championships, a Hockey Canada Regional Championship and the 2012 Hockey Canada Esso Cup National Championship. With the Hawks Friesen plays is a key player on both the power play and penalty kill while playing big minutes against the oppositions best players.
Friesen participated in Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence in 2013 making the Top 40 Camp then moving on to the Final 25 Camp before being selected to Team Manitoba and participating in Hockey Canada's U18 National Championship.
While attending Providence College Friesen who is an Honor Student is planning on studying Science.

KEISHA ROBERTSON COMMITS TO SAIT
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Westman Wildcats' Forward Keisha Robertson from Oak Lake Beach has committed to attend school at and play hockey for SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology). SAIT which was founded in 1916 is located in Calgary Alberta and is the city's oldest post-secondary institution, the Trojans play out of the ACAC (Alberta Collegiate Athletic Conference).
Robertson is a 3rd year Wildcat and will be attending SAIT in the fall of 2014 where she will be entering the Medical Radiologic Technology Program. Robertson is known as a player who, although being small in stature, is big in desire and is strong on the forecheck, is an aggressive penalty killer and has a heavy shot. In 51 games so far this year she has 3 goals, 5 assists for 8 points overall. Robertson played a significant role in the Wildcats championship run at the annual Mac’s tournament in Calgary over Christmas break this year.

Nicole Reimer Commits to Alberta
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that defense Nicole Reimer who plays for the Winnipeg Avros has committed to attend school at and play hockey for the University of Alberta. The University of Alberta is located in Edmonton Alberta with the Pandas playing out of the CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) Canada West Hockey Conference. The Pandas have a strong tradition within CIS Womens hockey as they have won the CIS National Championship 7 times and been in the final 9 times since the current format started in 1998 which are both the most in CIS History. Currently the Pandas are ranked 7 in the latest CIS Rankings
Reimer who hails from Winnipeg attends Transcona Collegiate Institute where she currently maintains a 91% GPA and is planning to study science while attending the University of Alberta after graduating.
Reimer an Alternate Captain with the Avros has been one their top offensive defense the past two years and this year currently has 29 points good for fourth in team scoring. A vital player on both the power play and penalty kills for the Avros Reimer usually plays against the oppositions top lines. Reimer started hockey in Hockey Winnipeg's male program playing "AA" Railcats from 2007-09 before switching over to the Winnipeg Saints Bantam "AA" Female Program where she proceeded to make Winnipeg's 2010 and 2011 Bantam Challenge Teams. Throughout her career Reimer has been a leader being named Alternate Captain or Captain on her Bantam teams and now with the Avros. Last season Reimer was selected to attend and participated in Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence Top 40 Camp.

GINA WILLIAMS COMMITS TO DINOS
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Westman Wildcats' defense Gina Williams has committed to attend school at and play hockey for the University of Calgary commencing the fall of 2014. The University of Calgary Dinos are members of the CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) Canada West Hockey Conference and is located in Calgary Alberta. The University of Calgary is a public research university composed of 14 faculties and an enrollment of 31,000 students between under-graduate and graduate studies. Williams who hails from and attends High School in Souris where she maintains a 91% GPA will be pursuing a Kinesiology Degree.
Williams is a 4thyear Wildcat who has been a stalwart on the Wildcats defense and at 5' 10" has been known for her physical play. Williams is a co-captain with the Wildcats and been a role model for her teammates with her character, discipline, and work ethic during her career. To date this season in 50 games Williams has 5 goals, 19 assists for 24 points overall and a solid +8 with 42 penalty minutes. This year Williams was an integral part of the Wildcats championship run at the annual Mac’s tournament in Calgary over Christmas break.

Kelly Cockerill Commits to Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Winnipeg Avros' Forward Kelly Cockerill has committed to attend school at and play hockey for the University of Wisconsin-Superior. The University of Wisconsin-Superior is located in Superior Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Superior with the Yellowjackets playing NCAA DII-III Hockey in the WIAC (Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Association) and are a perennial Top 10 program currently ranked 8TH in the NCAA Polls.
Cockerill an Alternate Captain with the Avros is a third year player who is known for her physical and tenacious style while playing a strong two way game. To date this season Cockerill has scored 9 goals and added 8 assists for the Avros while playing significant minutes on both the power play and penalty kill for the Avros while maintaining a plus 4. In 2013 Cockerill participated in Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence and was selected to attend Team Manitoba's Top 40 Camp.
Cockerill who hails from Selkirk attends Oak Park Collegiate where she has been an Honour Student throughout high school.

ALEXANDRA ANDERSON COMMITS TO BISONS
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that defense Alexandra Anderson of the Winnipeg Avros has committed to attend school at and play hockey for the University of Manitoba. The University of Manitoba is located in Winnipeg and the Bisons play out of the CIS Canada West Hockey Conference.
Anderson who hails from Winnipeg attends West Kildonan High School where she was a two time hockey MVP, All-star and leading scorer prior to moving up to play “AAA” with the Avros in the MFMHL. To date this year Anderson has 9 goals and 19 assists for 28 points leading the Avros defense in goals and ranking 5th in overall team scoring. A solid puck moving defense who plays on both the power play and penalty kill Anderson is currently the top defense in plus/minus at +33 tied for third overall on the team. Anderson will be registered for University 1 commencing 2014-15 season.

Shelby Audet Commits to NAIT
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Goaltender Shelby Audet who played 2 seasons in the league with the Winnipeg Avros and Eastman Selects and graduated from the MFMHL and Midget "AAA" Hockey last season has committed to attend school at and play for NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) commencing the 2014-15 season. Nait is located in Edmonton Alberta and the Ooks are the defending champions of the ACAC (Alberta Collegiate Athletic Conference).
Audet who is from Winnipeg and currently attends grade 12 at St. Mary's Academy played 32 games over her career in the MFMHL with an impressive 17-10-5 record while picking up 4 shutouts, registering a GAA of 1.69 and save% of .937. Audet was named MFMHL Goaltender of the Month for October 2013 and during her last season in Midget "AAA" Hockey with the Winnipeg Avros played in a total of 37 games with a solid record of 19-11-7 while recording a GAA of 1.66 and .939 save%. Audet is described by her former Avros Coach Ashley Van Aggelen as a tremendous individual who has worked extremely hard to earn this opportunity.

Robertson Commits to Augsburg College
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Forward Megan Robertson from Boissevain who plays for the Westman Wildcats has committed to attend school at and play hockey for Augsburg College.
Augsburg is located near downtown Minneapolis in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood at the heart of the Twin Cities and offers more than 50 undergraduate majors and nine graduate degrees to more than 4,000 students of diverse backgrounds.
Augsburg is a NCAA Division III school and a member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC), one of Division III's best conferences. MIAC affiliation affords the college with 12 other institutions to compete against at a very high level.
Robertson is a fourth year Wildcat and will be attending Augsburg in the fall of 2014 where she will be pursuing an education degree. She presently is 2nd in team scoring with 17 goals and 27 assists for 41 points in 46 games. Robertson scored the biggest goal of her career last January 2 when with 18 seconds left in triple overtime to lead the Wildcats to their first Calgary Mac's Midget AAA Tournament title.

Erin Kucheravy Commits to University of Manitoba
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Forward Erin Kucheravy of the Winnipeg Avros has committed to attend school at and play hockey for the University of Manitoba commencing the 2014-15 season. Kucheravy becomes the 6th MFMHL player ,including her teammates Alanna Sharman and Nicole Carswell, this season who have been recruited by and committed to play for the Bisons who play hockey in the Canada West Hockey Conference of the CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport). The University of Manitoba is located in Winnipeg which is Kucheravy's home town where she attends Oak Park High School and is a Honour Roll Student in the French Immersion Program along with being a member of the Student Council Executive. Kucheravy has plans on studying and working towards a business degree while attending school at the University of Manitoba.
Kucheravy has been a solid two way player throughout her career with the Avros and this year has stepped up as one of the Avros top offensive threats scoring 16 goals and adding 19 assists for 35 points in 36 games almost equalling the 37 points she had in 2012-13 while playing 50 games. She current is second in team scoring as well as being second in plus-minus with a solid +34. Kucheravy, an Alternate Captain with the Avros, is relied on to play on both the penalty kill and powerplay units while being an important part of the Avros leadership group.

Megan Tully Commits to the Bisons
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Megan Tully a 3 year defense with the Central Plains Capitals who graduated in 2013 from Midget "AAA" Hockey has committed to attend school at and play hockey at the University of Manitoba commencing 2014. The University of Manitoba is located in Winnipeg and the Bisons play in the CIS Canada West Hockey Conference. Tully a 5' 10" defense from Marquette, an alternate captain with the Capitals her last season, was known as a physical defender who contributed offensively with her huge shots from the point. During her playing career with the Capitals Tully played 132 games registering 35 points while being named a 3-time Academic Award winner as well as the Most Improved Player in 2012. Tully has been on the Bisons radar for a couple of years as she was recruited to play for their Junior Bisons Program during the off-season from the Capitals. Tully will be joining several former MFMHL players with the Bisons including former Capitals' Lindsay Bight, Chantal Gamache and 2014 recruit Courtlyn Oswald.

Jordyn Tibbatts Commits to NAIT OOKS
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that forward Jordyn Tibbatts of the Yellowhead Chiefs has committed to attend school at and play hockey for NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) located in Edmonton Alberta commencing the 2014 season. The NAIT Ooks play out of the ACAC (Alberta Collegiate Athletic Conference) and Tibbatts will be joining a program that has a winning tradition as the Ooks are the defending ACAC Champions.
Tibbatts who was elected by her teammates this season as the Chiefs' Captain is known as a quiet leader who leads by example on and off the ice. Tibbatts is a solid 2-way player who plays key minutes on both the power play and penalty kill for the Chiefs, she is an intense competitor who never takes a shift off. During her career with the Chiefs Tibbatts has played in 128 games to date registering 79 points, scoring 25 goals and adding 54 assists.
Tibbatts who hails from Foxwarren attends high school at Birtle Collegiate where is a Honor Roll Student. While attending NAIT Tibbatts plans to study in the Personal Fitness Trainer Program as a career path.

Lauryn Keen - Forward - Pembina Valley Hawks
Keen a forward with the defending MFMHL champion and 2012 Esso Cup National Champion Pembina Valley Hawks is a dynamic offensive player who has scored 128 goals and 102 assists for 230 points in 168 games to date with the Hawks. Keen, the Hawks Captain, hails from Manitou and has been an integral part of the team's success contributing to 3 MFMHL, 3 Provincial, 1 Hockey Canada Regional and 1 Hockey Canada Esso Cup National Championship. During the 2012-13 season Keen was named a MFMHL Second Team All-star. Utilized on the power play, penalty and on key face-offs Keen leads the Hawks by example. Keen has been a member of Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence the past 2 seasons and in 2012 helped Team Manitoba earn a Silver Medal at the Hockey Canada U18 National Championships, at the 2013 U18 National Championship Keen led Team Manitoba with 4 goals in 4 games. Keen plans to study agriculture at University of Manitoba with interests in being involved in the agricultural field once she graduates.

Courtlyn Oswald - Forward - Central Plains Capitals
Oswald a forward with the Central Plains Capitals is a tremendous 2 way forward who has been the Capitals' Captain for the past 2 seasons. Oswald is known as one of the top defensive forwards in the MFMHL however offensively during her career with the Capitals has also contributed better than a point per game scoring 82 goals and adding 62 assists for 144 points in 128 games. Oswald has been the Capitals MVP the past 2 seasons while being their leading scorer over both years while picking up two Academic Achievement Awards. During the 2012-13 season Oswald was selected as a First Team MFMHL All-star, she known as a natural leader with the Capitals. Oswald lives and attends school in MacGregor where she has been an Honour Roll Student for the past 2 seasons. Oswald is a 2 time member of Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence Provincial Team and scored a game winning goal at the 2012 Hockey Canada U18 National Championship helping Team Manitoba earn the Silver Medal. Oswald will take University 1 at the University of Manitoba and is still making a decision in regards to her degree path.

Nicole Carswell and Alanna Sharman of the Winnipeg Avros have committed to attend school at and play hockey for the University of Manitoba, the Bisons play in the Canada West Hockey Conference of the CIS.
Nicole Carswell - Forward - Winnipeg Avros
Carswell has been a solid 2-way player for the Avros and is currently Team Captain. A natural leader who never takes a shift off Carswell is known as a solid defensive forward however has the ability to contribute offensively. During the 2012-13 season Carswell contributed 31 points in 51 games and currently has 16 points in the Avros first 17 games during the 2013-14 season. A speedy skilled forward Carswell has been used by the Avros on both the penalty kill and power play. Carswell hails from Winnipeg and is a Honour Student at College Jeanne Sauve where she has also been a 2 time Athlete of the Year. Carswell is a member of Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence Team the past 2 seasons. In 2012 she helped Team Manitoba earn a Silver Medal at the Hockey Canada U18 National Championships and will be leaving with Team Manitoba November 4th to represent Manitoba at the 2013 U18 Championships.
Alanna Sharman - Forward - Winnipeg Avros
Sharman has been a terrific offensive player for the Avros over her career scoring 42 goals and picking up 76 points during 71 games the past 2 seasons, she led the Avros in scoring during the 2012-13 season. Sharman currently leads the Avros with 26 points in 17 games for the 2013-14 season and is a very effective player on the powerplay but is also a solid defensive player who provides quality time on the penalty kill. Sharman, an Assistant Captain with the Avros, is a Honour Roll Student at Nelson McIntyre Collegiate in Winnipeg where she was Athlete of Year in 2009-10. Last season Sharman made Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence Top 40 Camp and this season she took that a step further making Team Manitoba and will be joining her teammate at the Hockey Canada 2013 U18 National Championships in Calgary Alberta.
