West Region Championship - Weyburn takes down Hawks in 3

  • GAME 3 - Sunday April 6 - The Weyburn Gold Wings defeated the Hawks 3-0 in Game 3 to take the West Region Championship and will now represent the region at Hockey Canada's Esso Cup Female Midget National Championship.

Congrats to the Hawks on a Great Season and to Weyburn for their West Region Championship and GOOD LUCK at the Esso Cup.

  • GAME 2 - Saturday April 5 - 7:30 p.m.  - Gold Wings force Game 3 with 4-1 win over Hawks. The two teams battled to a 1-1 first period score with Destiny Collins scoring the Hawks only goal of the game. The Gold Wings would score 1 in the second period and 2 in the third period including an empty net marker to force a third and deciding game for the right to represent the West Region at the 2014 Esso Cup Female Midget National Championship. The game was an even contest with the Hawks outshooting the Gold Wings 23-22, Corrine Schroeder took the loss in net for the Hawks.
  • GAME 1 - Friday April 4 - 7:45 p.mKate Friesen, Lauryn Keen and Ginny Grenier scored while Corrine Schroeder stopped 31 Weyburn shots as the Pembina Valley Hawks knocked off the Weyburn Gold Wings 3-2 to draw first blood in their best of 3 Hockey Canada West Region Championship. The Game was played in Weyburn in front of an estimated crowd of 1200, game 2 goes tonight with the Hawks having a chance to close out the series and earn the right to represent the West Region at the 2014 Hockey Canada Esso Cup Midget National Championship.
