The Central Plains Capitals competed and represented the MFMHL at an extremely high level finishing 4th overall and being the only team to defeat the eventual Esso Cup National Champion Sudbury Wolves from Ontario. Below is the game results for the Caps:

CAPITALS Finish 4th In Hockey Canada Esso Cup National Championship.

Central Plains Capitals earned a spot in the Hockey Canada Esso Cup National Midget Championship semi-finals and faced the Sudbury Wolves on Friday April 24 at 4:30 CT. Saskatoon and Red Deer faced off in the other semi-final later at 8:00 CT. The Capitals finished the 5 game round robin with a record of 2 wins-1 loss - 2 shootout loss good for 8 points and a tie for third after RR play.

Tamara McVannel in her 4th and final season with the Caps finished on a high note being named as the Top Defense for the Esso Cup National Tournament.
