Lauren Taraschuk - Winnipeg Avros
The MFMHL Selkirk Source for Sports-Reebok Player of the Playoff Round for Round 1 has been awarded to Winnipeg Avros Goalie Laren Taraschuk. Taraschuk a Grade 11 student from Winnipeg is in her second season in the MFMHL. Although Taraschuk's Avros lost their best of 5 quarter-final series vs. the Westman Wildcats 3 games to 2 Taraschuk was solid in net keeping the Avros in the series as Westman outshot Winnipeg 170 to 109. Taraschuk had a .934 save% for the series and in both the Avros wins Taraschuk picked up 2-0 shutouts stopping 69 shots.
Andrea Sanderson - Westman Wildcat
Week 14 Ending January 10, 2016 - The MFMHL Selkirk Source for Sports-Reebok Player of the Week has been awarded to Westman Wildcat Forward Andrea Sanderson. Sanderson a grade 11 student from Melita is in her second season with the Wildcats. During the past week Sanderson had 5 points in 2 games picking up 2 assists in a 6-1 win over Interlake before registering a Hardtrick by using her great speed in the third period to help the Wildcats pick up a come from behind win over the Central Plains Capitals. For the season Sanderson has 7 goals and 15 assists in 39 games with the Wildcats.
Lauren Warkentin - Eastman Selects
Week 13 Ending January 3, 2016 - The MFMHL Selkirk Source for Sports-Reebok Player of the Week has been awarded to Eastman Selects Defense Lauren Warkentin. Warkentin who is the Selects Captains has been a key member in the Selects climb up the standings this season in the MFMHL and being a team that is a threat to win every time they step on the ice. Warkentin who hails from Steinbach is solid defender who plays big minutes against the other teams' top players but still contributes offensive as she has 3 goals and 7 assists this season good for third in team scoring. Warkentin is known for her leadership, hockey smarts and tenacious checking style winning most key battles especially while keeping the puck in the offensive zone. Warkentin quarterbacks the Selects powerplay and is a key member of their penalty kill unit who they know they can count on. Warkentin scored a huge goal vs. Yellowhead this past weekend to to keep her team in the game and battled throughout the weekend vs one of the MFMHL's top teams.
Ashton Bell - Westman Wildcats
Week 12 Ending December 20, 2015 - The MFMHL Selkirk Source for Sports-Reebok Player of the Week has been awarded to Westman Wildcats forward Ashton Bell. Bell who leads the Wildcats with 32 goals and 19 assists in 31 games to date scored both goals in a 3-2 loss to Pembina Valley before scoring 2 goals and adding an assist in the Wildcats 6-1 win over Winnipeg Avros. Bell who is known for her speed, tenacious forecheck and backcheck skills was dominant on both the penalty kill and powerplay. Bell currently leads the MFMHL with 24 goals and 9 assists in in 19 games. Bell who was part of Hockey Manitoba's POE team that earned a silver medal at Hockey Canada's U18 National Championship has now earned a spot with Team Canada at the IIHF U18 World Championships in St. Catharines Ont. in January.
Chelsea Dearsley - Pembina Valley Hawks
Week 11 Ending December 13, 2015 - The MFMHL Selkirk Source for Sports-Reebok Player of the Week has been awarded to Pembina Valley Hawks forward Chelsea Dearsley. Dearsley in her final year with the Hawks had 2 goals to lead the Hawks past the Yellowhead Chiefs 4-2 giving them their first loss in regulation in the MFMHL season. Dearsley an Assistant Captain for the Hawks is a power forward who has 13 goals and 7 assists in MFMHL play while scoring 16 goals and adding 11 assists in overall games good for second in team scoring.
CHLOE SNAITH - Central Plains Capitals
Week 10 Ending December 6, 2015 - The MFMHL Selkirk Source for Sports-Reebok Player of the Week has been awarded to Central Plains Capitals' defense Chloe Snaith. Snaith a rookie defense with the Capitals had 4 points (goal and 3 assists) while being a plus 7 in helping her team defeat the Interlake Lightning over the weekend. To date Snaith who was a Bantam "AAA" All-star last season has 2 goals and 5 assists for 7 points with the Capitals and is used on both the powerplay and penalty kill by her coaches.
Lauren Taraschuk - Winnipeg Avros
Week 9 Ending November 29, 2015 - The MFMHL Selkirk Source for Sports-Reebok Player of the Week has been awarded to Winnipeg Avros Goalie Lauren Taraschuk. Taraschuk played back to back games vs. the undefeated Yellowhead Chiefs helping her team earn a split and hand the Chiefs their first loss of the MFMHL season. In the two games Taraschuk stopped 96 of 99 shots fired her way including 60 of 60 plus 9 of 10 in the shootout to lead the Avros to a 1-0 win. To date Taraschuk, who was a MFMHL First Team All-star in 2015 and made Hockey Manitoba's Top 25 Camp, has a 6-3 record with a Save % of .959 and GAA of 1.10.
Hannah Fouillard - Yellowhead Chiefs
Week 8 Ending November 22, 2015 - The MFMHL Selkirk Source for Sports-Reebok Player of the Week has been awarded to Yellowhead Chiefs forward Hannah Fouillard. Fouillard had 3 goals and 3 assists to lead the Chiefs to 2 wins over the weekend and remain undefeated in MFMHL play. Fouillard who hails from St. Lazare is known for her speed and strong two way play scored the lone goal vs. Pembina Valley in a 1-0 victory before adding 2 goals and 3 assists in a 7-2 win over Interlake. Fouillard has 9 goals and 9 assists in 18 games to date for the Chiefs. Fouillard was a member of Hockey Manitoba's U18 Program of Excellence and helped Manitoba to a Silver Medal at the 2015 U18 Hockey Canada U18 National Championships just held earlier in November.

Week 7 Ending November 15, 2015 - The MFMHL Selkirk Source for Sports-Reebok Player of the Week has been awarded to Westman Wildcats forward Ashton Bell. Bell had 5 goals and 1 assist to lead the Wildcats to 5 of a possible 6 points over 3 games and first place in the MFMHL standings. Bell who hails from Deloraine is known for her tremedous speed and strong two way play and currently leads the Wildcats in scoring with 16 goals and 8 assists in 18 games. A MFMHL All-star in 2014-15 Bell is a two time member of Hockey Manitoba's U18 Program of Excellence and helped Team Manitoba to a Silver Medal at the 2015 U18 Hockey Canada U18 National Championships just held earlier in Novermber.

Week 6 Ending November 8, 2015 - The MFMHL Selkirk Source for Sports-Reebok Player of the Week has been awarded to the 9 players who participated in Hockey Canada's U18 National Championship in Huntsville Ontario and were part of a Silver Medal performance losing to Ontario Red 2-1 in OT in the championship game. The Silver Medal equalled Manitoba's best ever finish at the U18 Nationals and gave Manitoba 5 Medals which only trails Ontario and Quebce in the U18 medal count. Week 5 ending November 1, 2015 - Forward Sage McElroy-Scott of the Pembina Valley Hawks has been selected as the Reebok -Selkirk Source for Sports Player of the Week. McElroy-Scott who hails from Morden scored three goals and added two assists to lead the Hawks to wins over the Westman Wildcats and Eastman Selects. McElroy-Scott currently leads the MFMHL with 11 goals and is second in points while for the season is the Hawk's top offensive player notching 16 goals and 8 assists for 24 points in 18 games.
Chelsea Dearsley - Pembina Valley Hawks
Week 4 ending October 25, 2015 - Forward Chelsea Dearsley of the Pembina Valley Hawks has been selected as the Reebok -Selkirk Source for Sports Player of the Week. Dearsley who hails from Baldar was an offensive power scoring 4 goals and adding 3 assists in leading the Hawks to wins over Interlake and Norman. Dearsley who is an Assistant Captain for the Hawks is currently second in team scoring with 7 goals and 7 assists in 16 games played. A two time MFMHL champion and 2014 Manitoba Winter Games Gold Medalist Dearsley is an important leader on and off the ice for the Hawks.
Kelsey McHolm - Winnipeg Avros
Week 3 ending October 18, 2015 - Forward Kelsey McHolm of the Winnipeg Avros has been selected as the Reebok -Selkirk Source for Sports Player of the Week. McHolm who hails from East St. Paul was involved in all 4 Avros goals scoring a hat trick including the OT winner while adding an assist to lead the Avros to a 4-3 victory over the Westman Wildcats. McHolm is currently second in team scoring for the Avros with 5 goals and 4 assists in 15 games and is known for her on ice leadership. In 2015 McHolm was selected to participate in Hockey Manitoba's Top 40 Camp and committed to attend school at and play hockey for York University. McHolm is also a talented softball player and has won a Western Canadian Championship and finished 4th at the Canadian Nationals with Winnipeg Smittys.
Sheridan Oswald - Central Plains Capitals
Week 2 ending October 11, 2015 - Forward Sheridan Oswald of the Central Plains Capitals has been selected as the Reebok -Selkirk Source for Sports Player of the Week for the second week in a row. Oswald who hails from MacGregor and was just selected to Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence Team Manitoba led her team to a 7-2 road victory over the Interlake Lightning as she scored 3 goals and after 2 MFMHL games is tied for first in league scoring. Oswald an MFMHL All-star who is in her 5th and final year with the Capitals now has 15 goals and 7 assists for 22 points in 13 games for the Capitals.

Oswald who hails from MacGregor and was just selected to Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence Team Manitoba lead her team to a 3-2 road victory over the Pembina Valley Hawks as she was in on all 3 Capitals' goals wih 2 assists and scored the game winner. Oswald an MFMHL All-star who is in her 5th and final year with the Capitals is off to a great start this season leading the Capitals with 13 goals and 5 assists in 9 games played.
