GEEKIE COMMITS TO REGINA
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Yellowhead Chiefs forward Sam Geekie has committed to attend school at and play hockey for the University of Regina commencing the fall of 2016. The University of Regina is located in Regina Saskatchewan and the Cougars compete in the CIS Canada West Hockey Conference.
Geekie who resides in Strathclair is completing her third year with Yellowhead and has led the Chiefs in scoring in all three seasons scoring 69 goals and adding 48 assists for 117 points in 157 games during her midget career to date. Geekie was selected as the Chiefs Most Improved Player in 2013-14 and earned the Top Scorer award in 2013-14 and 2014-15. Geekie has participated in Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence and this past year made the Top 40 and Final 25 Camps.
The MFMHL wants to congratulate Sam on her outstanding accomplishments to date during her midget career and wishes her all the best with her future academic and athletic endeavors while at the University of Regina.
