Mekaela Fisher Commits to Manitoba

The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Central Plains Capitals forward Mekaela Fisher has committed to attend school at and play hockey for the University of Manitoba commencing the 2016-17 season. The University of Manitoba is located in Winnipeg Manitoba and the Bisons play out of the Canada West Hockey Conference of the CIS.

Fisher who is one of the Capitals Asst. Captains has played in 78 games with the Capitals scoring 28 goals and adding 36 assists and is known for her speed and tenacious style of play. Fisher who earned the Capitals'  Most Improved Player Award in 2015 was a key player in the team earning their first MFMHL and Hockey Manitoba "AAA" Provincial Championship and a trip to Hockey Canada's Esso Cup National Championship. Fisher's strong play earned her a spot on Team Manitoba through Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence and she participated in Hockey Canada's U18 National Championship helping the team earn a Silver Medal.

The MFMHL congratulates Mekaela on her outstanding accomplishments to date during her midget career and wishes her continued success with her future academic and hockey endeavors while at the University of Manitoba.
