COOKE COMMITS TO
UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Westman Wildcat forward Jaedon Cooke has committed to attend school at and play hockey for the University of British Columbia commencing the 2016-17 season. UBC has a main campas in Vancouver British Columbia and the Thunderbirds play out of the Canada West Conference of the CIS.
Cooke is coming off a season in which she was named MFMHL 2nd Team All Star. In 28 MFMHL games last year Cooke had 11 goals, 15 assists for 26 points while scoring 25 goals and adding 22 assists for 47 points in 60 overall games for the Wildcats. Cooke is an explosive skater and a model of character, discipline, and work ethic for her teammates. This past season Cooke earned a spot on Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence U18 Team and helped them win a silver medal at Hockey Canada's U18 National Championship.
The University of British Columbia is a global centre for research and teaching, consistently ranked among the 40 best universities in the world where Cooke will be pursuing a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree.
The MFMHL wants to congratulate Jaedon on her tremendous accomplishments to date during her midget career and wishes her all the best with her future academic and hockey endeavors while at UBC.
