Jalyn Elmes Commits to Minnesota-Duluth

 

The MFMHL is pleased to announce that defense Jalyn Elmes of the Yellowhead Chiefs has committed to attend school at and play hockey for the University of Minnesota-Duluth commencing the 2016-17 season.  UMD located in Duluth Minnesota is a Division 1 NCAA program that competes in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

Elmes the Chiefs Captain is a 4 year veteran of the MFMHL who over her career has played 193 total games for the Chiefs scoring 27 goals and adding 59 assists for 86 points.  Elmes was Yellowhead’s MVP in 2014-2015 and is a two time MFMHL Second Team All-star selection. Elmes is also a two time member of Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence making Team Manitoba in 2014 and 2015 where she particpated in the 2015 Canada Winter Games and 2015 U18 National Championship helping Team Manitoba to a Silver Medal. This past summer Elmes was also selected to the U18 Team Canada Roster that played a 3 game exhibition series vs. the USA.

Elmes who hails from Brandon where she attends Crocus Plains High School is undecided on her major course of study at UMD at this time.

The MFMHL congratulates Jalyn on her outstanding accomplishments to date during her midget career and wishes her all the best with her future academic and hockey endeavors while at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
