The MFMHL is pleased to announce that defense MacKenzie Heide of the Pembina Valley Hawks has been named the Reebok-Selkirk Source for Sports Player of the Week ending January 15. Heide who hails from Morden and is in her second year on the blue line for the Hawks picked up 4 assists in 2 games over the weekend. Heide has been a big attribute to the Hawks this year with her strength in the defensive zone and ability to see the ice well. Heide showed her offensive ability by getting 2 assists on Saturday to help the Hawks to a 5-0 win over the Capitals and then another 2 assists on Sunday to help the Hawks to a 6-2 win over the Capitals. To date Heide has 8 assists in MFMHL play.
