The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Raina Rempel of the Eastman Selects has been named the GDI Goalie of the Month.Rempel who hails from Steinbach has had a very strong year as a second year Midget player boasting a current GAA of 1.43, placing her amongst the top three goalies in the MFMHL while registering a great Save % of .951 on the season. Rempel is currently 5-3-3 in MFMHL play with one shutout. Rempel sits at a record of 11-8-3 for the Selects on the season.

DECEMBER
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Lauren Taraschuk of the Winnipeg Avros has been named the GDI Goalie of the Month for December. Taraschuk who hails from Winnipeg is a big, calm, cool and collected presence when playing in the crease. Taraschuk gives the Avros a chance to win every time they play with a 1.25 GAA and .949% save percentage leading to 7-3 record in the MFMHL to date. Taraschuk who was the Avros MVP last season has been named MFMHL First Team All-star Goalie and earned spots in Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence Final 28 the past two seasons. Taraschuk has committed to attend the University of Manitoba and play for the Bisons commencing the fall of 2017.

NOVEMBER
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Halle Oswald of the Pembina Valley Hawks has been named the GDI Goalie of the Month. Oswald in her second year with the Hawks has a 9-0 record in MFMHL play to date after going 3-0 for the November helping her team to first place. Oswald who lives and attends school in Sanford has a GAA of 0.99 and Save% of .955 in the MFMHL and for the season with the Hawks has a record of 14-4-2 with a GAA of 1.83 and Save % of .931. Oswald has shown she is an elite goalie in the MFMHL and has the ability to keep the Hawks in and steal games for her team. This past season Oswald was one of the goalies at Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence Top 40 Camp.

OCTOBER
The MFMHL is pleased to announce that Kerigan Dowhy of the Interlake Lightning has been named the MFMHL GDI Goalie of the Month for October. Dowhy who hails from Stonewall has faced 399 shots in the first 6 games she played, close to 200 more than any other goalie in the MFMHL and still posted a stellar .930 save %. Dowhy who is known for her athletic style in net and never give up attitude on the puck has earned another spot on Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence team roster that will compete in Hockey Canada's U18 National Championship to be held in Regina Sask. in November. Dowhey has committed to play hockey for NCAA D1 Bimidji State University commencing next season and over the past summer attended Hockey Canada's U18 National Goalie Development Camp.
